Update on SIPS 2020 Meeting – COVID-19

Given the developing global situation with COVID-19, we want to assure SIPS 2020 registrants (and potential registrants) that SIPS is monitoring the unfolding situation and carefully considering plans for our upcoming meeting. At this time, we intend to continue with the meeting as planned, and we are hopeful that by late June when the meeting happens that the bulk of the crisis will have passed.

Of course, we understand that some institutions and even some nations are beginning to impose restrictions on employee travel. Other individuals may simply choose not to travel at this time. If you are in either of these groups and would like a refund for your conference registration fee, please write to sips@improvingpsych.org, and we can make that happen.

Please note, in the unlikely event that we are not able to host the meeting, SIPS is still contractually obligated to pay for our event space. We are prepared to do so out of our reserves if necessary, but please bear this in mind when requesting refunds. As a small society with limited resources, the generosity of our members is what keeps us afloat. That said, we do not want to unduly burden our members, and we encourage anyone who needs a refund to please request one.

Please direct any remaining questions to sips@improvingpsych.org.
